I know people have illness, hurts, pains, and yes war injuries. I sometimes wonder just how much can a person take?
I saw a bit of a movie on TV the other day. Seems this fellow had something wrong with his get along. He was riding a wheel chair, and feeling sorry for himself. The few minutes I saw of the movie, he was in the hospital.
He was lucky he had a right good looking babe pushing his chair. He was griping about the sorry state that he found himself in. She pushed him in the chair into a wing of the hospital, stopped, and walked in front of him. Her words were not very kind. She said she was tired hearing about his problem, take a look at the ones in the small rooms off the hall, and then complain. They had many problems, and were making do. She walked away and left him to work his wheels alone.
I think we all have problems at times, many hurts, pains and sickness. If one gets to feeling sorry for their state, things just goes on down the drain, It only makes for worse. Also sooner or later people get tried of the old story.
I know of one such person. She goes to the same church as me. Now she is a very special person it seems. I go to church early on Sunday morning. I crank up the old van, and go about town picking up kids, and people for the church. Always make the pick up and back to the church at opening bell. At about the close of Sunday School hour, I have to break and run to fetch her, it is her time to come for her one hour a week service.
Now if I don't get parked just right to pick her up I hear about it, also If I don't get parked where she can get out, another few words said. She also has words about the weather, her aches, her pains, and so on.
Sunday the pot boiled over, I said yes I know about aches, and pains, and would she like to hear about my war injuries? It was a quiet ride back to the church.
Now to clear up something, I don't have any war injuries.
I just have wounds of every day life, and along the way, yes I have lost the spring in my step. Yes, I do have aches and pains of bad knees, and other joints. But do you need to hear about them?
As we grow older, we all have the aches, the pains of fighting the ever day battles of life on this earth. We can sit and cry because our young days are no more, and we have the scars of life to show now. Or we can say, you know I have some aches and pains, but I see others are really hurting. Mine may be bad, but somewhere there is someone making do, and you hear nothing from them. And thanks for helping me.
But this lady finds fault with what others go out of their way to do for her. Ones like her can change a person who does also have aches and pains day into a worse day.
I had no gloves, it was a cold day, but I had pockets in my coat to put my hands. I then saw a man with stubs for hands.
I rest my case.
One can always look and will see someone in worse shape.
